Brooch - Celtic Plaid. 2.5" diameter.Crafted of pewter with a plated finish of Palladium (which won’t scratch or tarnish). Plaid Brooches are the traditional method of fastening the plaid, cloak or shawl at the shoulder. At one time they became so exaggerated in size and design that a law was passed in Scotland forbidding the pin to protrude beyond the shoulder. The Celtic Plaid Brooches feature Endless Celtic Interlacing. The art of the Celt is the only indigenous British art form of world significance, yet until relatively recently it has been largely ignored. Each of the designs incorporates endless Celtic Interlacing, with its "over and unders" representing the "ups and downs" of life; and the unbroken continuity of the endless ribbon symbolises the hope of eternal life.
